In Indonesian “You’re welcome” is Kembali. The word literally means “to return”.
At KemBali – the new thrift store, we are practising recycling and responsible waste disposal in a special new location.
The construction of KemBali is complete and can be found along side the road, before you reach the Green School gate on the west side, close to the first security post. We will be opening at the beginning of the new school year.
Thanks to all of those who contributed to a successful collection of donations at the end of the term. Clothing, baby gear, books, jewellery, kitchenware, sporting gear, toys and craft goods – we got it all.
The set-up and staffing costs for the first year have kindly been donated by Richard and Sam Rice, Rufus’s parents (Charlie from The Chocolate Factory). The aim is for KemBali to become financially self-sustaining as a Green School entity.
Any profits made will go to fund further reduce/reuse/recycle initiatives in the local community.
